Privacy policy
ARKLinks is a sole proprietorship based in Tokyo, Japan. This policy covers what
we collect when you order tea from us and what we do with it.
WHAT WE COLLECT
Your name, shipping address, email address, and what you bought. Payment card
details go directly to our payment processor — we never see or store them.
We also collect what you write in the notes box at checkout: what you like the
taste of, what you eat, what you drink your tea with. This is the part that
matters most to us, and it is the reason the box exists.
WHAT WE DO WITH IT
The founder reads what you wrote before your tea is chosen. That is the whole
purpose. We keep it so that a second order can be better than the first — if you
told us last time that you wanted something less grassy, we should not have to
ask again.
We do not sell it, rent it, or share it with anyone who is not helping us fulfil
your order.
WHO ELSE SEES YOUR DATA
- Shopify, which runs this store and processes your order
- Our payment processor, which handles your card
- Japan Post and the customs authorities of Japan and the United States, which
need your name and address printed on the parcel and declared on the customs
form
- Zonos, which calculates and prepays the duties on that declaration
- Formspree, which delivers the founding-list form on ark-links.com to us and
stores the submission so we can read it
That is the whole list.
We only email you about your order unless you ask for the newsletter. If you did
ask, every one of those emails has an unsubscribe link, and it works.
YOUR RIGHTS
Write to info@ark-links.com and ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct
it, or ask us to delete it. We will do it. If you are a California resident, the
same applies — we do not sell personal information, and we never have.
Our records are kept in Japan. Ordering from us means your information is
transferred to Japan and handled under Japanese law.
